One of the simplest safety checks in Dubai real estate today is verifying whether an advertisement is officially authorised. Dubai Land Department introduced the Madmoun service so customers can scan a QR code on property advertisements and confirm that the ad is valid and approved.
What Madmoun Is
DLD says Madmoun is an electronic service within the Trakheesi system that issues a QR code for every real estate advertisement permit. Effective 24 April 2023, real estate companies were required to display the QR code on printed and audiovisual advertisements so customers can verify authenticity quickly.
What Customers Can Check
When customers scan the QR code, DLD says they can view complete advertisement information, including the advertising company, the property's condition and specifications, and whether the advertisement has been approved by RERA. Before calling, paying a reservation amount, or sending personal documents, scan the QR code if it is present and review the authorised details. If an ad does not show the QR code where it should, or the data does not match what the broker is claiming, pause and verify before moving forward.
